Narcolepsy

Do I have Narcolepsy?

If you are having sleep problems or think that you may have Narcolepsy, the first thing you should do is talk to your doctor.  Your GP can assess your condition and refer you to an accredited sleep specialist for further investigation and treatment if necessary.

Symptoms of Narcolepsy include

  • Excessive daytime sleepiness

  • Hallucinations

  • Sleep Paralysis

  • Memory problems

  • Sudden loss of muscle tone

Sleep Physicians are the best qualified medical professionals to investigate and supervise the treatment of Narcolepsy. More importantly, the best health outcomes are usually achieved with local Sleep Physicians who can consult directly with you and your GP. If you have had a sleep study, your sleep specialist will be able to refer you for more tests to confirm diagnosis.
